Navyra Group is currently refitting yachts as a live proving ground for our electrification methodology. Each refit is engineered toward maximum automation — reducing crew dependency, lowering operational costs, and demonstrating the viability of full electric propulsion at the luxury end of the market.

Yacht refit is not a peripheral activity. It is the fastest route to real-world validation of our battery systems, power management architecture, and automated vessel control stack. Lessons from each refit feed directly into the conversion methodology applied to commercial vessel classes.

The automation layer is the differentiator. Our control architecture enables single-operator management of propulsion, power distribution, and vessel systems — a capability that transfers directly to commercial ferry and tug operations where crew cost is a primary economic driver.

THE REFIT PROCESS
01Engineering

Vessel Assessment

Full structural, electrical, and propulsion audit of the existing vessel. We model energy demand across all operational profiles — transit, anchoring, hotel load — to size the battery and charging system precisely.

02Structural

Propulsion Removal & Hull Prep

Diesel engines, fuel tanks, and associated systems are removed. Hull penetrations are sealed and reinforced. Weight distribution is recalculated to account for battery pack placement and maintain trim.

03Electrical

Battery & Power System Installation

High-density lithium battery packs are installed in optimised positions. Our proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) is integrated, providing cell-level monitoring, thermal management, and fault isolation.

04Automation

Automation & Control Integration

This is the core of the Navyra refit programme. We install automated propulsion control, dynamic power routing, regenerative systems, and a vessel management interface — reducing manual crew intervention to near zero for routine operations.

05Infrastructure

Shore Power & Charging Setup

Shore-side charging connections are configured for standard marina infrastructure. Smart charging logic manages charge rate based on grid conditions, battery state, and departure schedule.

06Compliance

Sea Trials & Certification

Comprehensive sea trials validate performance against the energy model. All systems are tested under load. Flag state certification and class society approval are obtained before the vessel returns to service.
